About Gor The Warrior

Gor The Warrior was conceived during five long years of roleplaying between two good friends, namely myself and the other, who played Gor himself. Now, Gor was not a comedic character for the most part, considering the quests I often laid out for him and his companions were epic tasks, saving the world kind of tasks.

Though it'd be a serious game we'd played, we always had a few running jokes between him and I, including the idea that Gor actually never took his armor off, even to sleep, and in doing so, would probably cause several hundred people to run haphazardly away from his unwashed body! Of course another joke following that was that he actually bathed in his armor! I'd thought it'd be fun to capitalize on some of these moments and put them onto paper, and thus, Gor The Warrior was born.

It started as a simple pen and paper comic, drawn on lined paper during spare time in various classes and at home, and I always had a ton of fun drawing them. I must have made about thirty of those ones on paper. The only problem is, I wanted to have them online, but scanning the drawings caused poor results (though they've been included in the old comics section), and drawing them by hand on the computer with a mouse took ages (I tried two of these).

I've been a fan of 8-Bit Theatre for ages, and I thought making a sprite comic would be the perfect and quick way to get the humour onto your computer screens, with a fair and decent quality. And it is! Thus, Gor The Warrior - The Alternate Tale, is born.

Now, the title "The Alternate Tale" stems from the fact that the entire series is loosely based on a more humorous take on everything that happened during their actual adventures, and some of the random happenings that occurred. The comic does follow a loose storyline, but it will often break off into the aforementioned randomness. Several characters from Kirin will no longer exist in this comic, mainly as they were not used for the comedic purposes and several will be newly made to suit it.

Most of all, I hope you'll enjoy the comedic approach to RPG's/Pen and Paper games'/Insanity!
